Diborane (B2H6) is the simplest borane. It is a colorless liquid at room temperature.

Diborane is chemically active, spontaneously combustible, and has a high heat of combustion. Reacts with water to form boric acid and hydrogen. With the alkali metal hydride can form increasingly complex borohydride.

Diborane is commonly used in doping and ion implantation processes for the production of semiconductor integrated circuits.
